'Sculpt' an artistic Tuscany holiday
Until July 26th, Impruneta in the province of Florence will host an exhibit that showcases the masters of the Renaissance and their terracotta sculptures, which may be loved by culture vultures with an appreciation for the kiln.
Works by artists such as Brunelleschi, Ghiberti, Donatello, Nanni di Bartolo, Michelozzo and Luca della Robbia will be on display.
According to organisers, the project aims to illustrate the rebirth of terracotta in Tuscany with the foundation of the guild of the Impruneta kiln men back in 1309.
While in Florence, holiday makers can pack their trip with local culture and tradition - including visits to Michelangelo's famous statue of David, the Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi art gallery.
Those still there in the evening can even take a moonlit walk along Florence's ancient Ponte Vecchio bridge.
