Grab yourself a late deal >'Lucky Tuscany holiday makers' set for some Lucca wine
Preview of Wines from Lucca – or Anteprima Vini Lucca for those who speak the native tongue - involves tastings, meetings and roundtable discussions of the latest batch of Gran Cru wines, it has been reported.
According to the Florentine, the result of the 2008 grape harvest and a sneak peek at the up-and-coming bottles will be on show in the "beautiful and spacious Real Collegio, in the historic centre of Lucca".
"Visitors also shouldn't miss the Street Food market, which will showcase the best of local, traditional street food," the newspaper adds.
The fair will also include an exhibition of photography – so there are plenty of things to see, drink and eat on a Tuscany holiday.
For those who wish to see the beautiful walled city of Lucca, a villa in the idyllic medieval town Pieve di Compito may be the perfect place to bring the suitcase – and the picturesque lush surroundings could be the ideal treat for all the senses.
