'Get lucky' on a Tuscany villa holiday
Holiday makers may have a date with destiny and a chance to flip their fortunes at Festa del Grillo, or the cricket festival, which takes place on Ascension Day in Florence every year, according to CNN.
Singing crickets are believed to bring good luck and years ago children would construct cages and try to capture crickets to take to the Parco delle Cascine, a popular park in Florence, the news provider says.
"Nowadays, the crickets are likely to be fake, but you can buy them housed in endearing pastel-painted confections with windows and roofs - and they are still considered lucky," it adds.
The cricket festival is just one of numerous celebrations of music, arts, dance and film that offer those on a villa holiday the chance to join in the unique Tuscan atmosphere that is created.
