Monteverdi Marittimo in Tuscany
This tranquil, medieval hilltop village is set amid beautiful scenery – surrounded by beautiful woodland and boasting wonderful views over the nearby plain towards the sea. Monteverdi Marittimo is rich in history, architecture and nature – as well as great hospitality from local people. If you wish to find out a bit more about the area’s past, there are many fascinating Roman ruins to discover nearby, including a Roman road and the ruins of an ancient villa. If you wish to enjoy a day out to the beach, the beautiful sandy beach at Marina di Donoratico is just a 35 minute drive away.

The villa was wonderful, quiet and well appointed. The only thing which would have improved it was air-conditioning - it was 30 degrees inside and the two bedroom fans helped but could not cool it down. Otherwise all was great. In this particular villa, the living room was accessible from outside which was a bit strange, but otherwise very comfortable.
