Montecatini Val di Cecina in Tuscany

The charming town of Montecatini Val di Cecina rests amid beautiful scenery atop the Poggio la Croce hill, enjoying spectacular views over the Cecina valley and towards nearby Volterra. Superbly preserved, medieval buildings huddle along the winding streets and alleyways within the town walls. The town boasts a very rich history, first settled by the Etruscans and later used as a Roman lookout post, and you will find a variety of architectural styles on display. Take a leisurely stroll to admire the Romanesque church, cylindrical towers, and elegant piazzas, as well as the imposing Belforti tower, which dominates the skyline.

Montecatini Val di Cecina reviews

Mrs Shaw, Doncaster July 2010
This villa was very remote but very beautiful. The views were breathtaking and the peacefulness wonderful. Some may find it too off the beaten track, but for us it was ideal.
