Why not travel to Turkey villas via award-winning Stansted Airport?
British families planning on jetting abroad, maybe to villas in Turkey, may want to do so via Stansted Airport.
This is after the third-busiest travel hub in the UK scooped the honour of world's best low-cost airport at the 2011 World Airports Awards.
Held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Stansted was given the prize on the basis of feedback by 11.38 million passengers, which spread across 100 different nationalities and covered 240 global airports.
Nick Barton, who is the managing director at the travel hub, commented: "I'm absolutely delighted Stansted has been named as the best low-cost airport in the world, especially as the award is decided by those who matter the most - the passenger."
Those travelling to Turkey villas will now have more choice from Stansted Airport, after Pegasus Airlines has begun offering direct flights from the hub to the city of Izmir, on the Aegean coast.
Holiday makers can travel to the Turkish resort via this option on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
