Why not take holidays to Turkey with a long-term stay in mind?

People seeking villas in Turkey may want to keep an eye out for attractive properties to invest in for the long term.

Tim Morgan, partner at Emerging Real Estate, believes that the country is a "real hotspot in Europe" when it comes to snapping up residential property abroad, with Istanbul a particular highlight.

He acknowledged that one of the major aspects which is making Turkey so attractive in this area is the fact that the nation's economy has "soared and increased in value" at a time when other countries have seen their economic outlook grow bleaker.

"A shortage of housing in Istanbul, together with growing tourism, is fuelling the demand for rental properties, and good rental yields are available across the country," Mr Morgan added.

Holiday makers who head to Turkey villas around Istanbul may also be keen to take in the sights of the Eurasia Boatshow and the Istanbul International Gastronomy Festival during their travels, with each event coming to the city during February 2012.
