Villas in Turkey: Chances of F1 returning to country 'more hopeful'
Brits who headed out to Turkey villas to catch the weekend's Formula One action live may have the chance to do so again next year too.
Officials for the country have had talk with one of the key individuals in the sport, Bernie Ecclestone, and are now hopeful that the nation can maintain their place on the Grand Prix calendar for the future.
Istanbul Park was hit with doubts over its place in the motoracing spectacle before last weekend's contest because of a disagreement over payments.
However, Mumtaz Tahincioglu, chairman of Turkish Automobile Sports Federation, was quoted by local media as saying: "Both sides are trying to solve this issue. Comparing before the race and the current situation, there is a 50 per cent difference."
Those who booked up villas in Turkey to see this season's Turkish Grand Prix saw Sebastian Vettel record his third victory in the Red Bull car in four races, which has left him 34 points ahead of nearest rival, Lewis Hamilton, in the drivers' standings.
