Turkey villas 'ideal for watery ventures'
People who are hoping to stay active while jetting overseas have been encouraged to check out villas in Turkey.
Joanna Marsh, PR co-ordinator for the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, noted that those after water sports are in for a treat by visiting the country.
This is because Turkey is surrounded by three distinct seas – the Mediterranean, the Aegean and the Black Seas.
As a result, those who head to the Mediterranean coast, such as in Kas, can experience some thrilling scuba diving pursuits, while the Turquoise Coast of Marmaris and Bodrum is a perfect spot for sailing and gulet cruising.
"Turkey's mountainous interior suits activities such as mountaineering, white-water rafting, trekking and even skiing," Ms Marsh added.
The country also seems a perfect location for honeymoon getaways, with Simon Cooper, chief executive of On the Beach, noting an uptake in this type of holiday within Turkey over the last couple of years.
