Turkey villa holidays likely to be popular in the future

Holiday makers may find that booking into a Turkey villa on the Mediterranean coast is set to become a more attractive proposition in the coming years.

According to a report by global research company RNCOS, Turkey is forecast to receive 33 million tourists a year by 2012, significantly higher than current levels.

The research indicated that the effects of the economic recession had been slight on the country's tourism industry, with recovery in 2010 seen as almost "inevitable".

Furthermore, RNCOS predicted that the greater opportunities for health tourism, yachting and golfing currently being made available in Turkey would see its allure increase further.

On top of that, it posited that holiday makers from the UK, Germany and Russia would remain the most important visitors to the country.

There are a number of reasons that Turkey is so popular with tourists.

Beyond its beautiful beaches and excellent weather, holiday makers can find plenty of history along Turkey's Bodrum peninsula coastline, which was visited by both Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar while they were conquering the ancient world.
