Turkey villa holidays 'have everything you need'

Families and couples will find everything they could want from a summer break on a Turkey villa holiday.

This is the view of journalist Melissa Shedden, who said the country's Mediterranean coast offers "balmy" nights, bazaars and sandy beaches.

She advised beach lovers to check out Olu Deniz, which she described as "the poster beach of Turkey".

"A beautiful, wide stretch of shingly sand, the beach is long enough to absorb the crowds and entices bathers with the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon," she wrote.

But Turkey has more to offer than its beaches, as those who take time to explore a little further inland will find out.

Ms Shedden said holiday makers can rent cars or take jeep safari tours to the Amintas Tombs above Fethiye or the deserted village of Kayakoy, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Saklikent Gorge, the second largest gorge in Europe, is also "an absolute must" for those who want to get out and about during their break.

An Ovacik villa may be the perfect base from which to visit these sites.

The village sits at the foot of Mount Babadag and is also just a 15-minute walk from the beach at Olu Deniz.
