Turkey sees rise in tourism numbers

More people look to have been snapping up villas in Turkey, if new research is to be believed.

According to data released by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, 17,624,969 tourists have travelled to the country during the first seven months of the year.

This is a 10.64 per cent rise on the number of people who visited Turkey during the same period in 2010.

July alone also saw a significant rise in tourism figures for the holiday hot spot, with over 4.5 million people taking a trip to the country during the month – an increase of 5.49 per cent compared to July of last year.

People from Germany made up the bulk of these numbers, followed by Russians and Brits.

Holiday makers in the UK looking to occupy Turkey villas in the months ahead will now have more opportunities to do so.

Airline companies Cosmos and Avro Flights have both increased the number of seats they have on offer to the country throughout the autumn months.
