Turkey holiday makers to flock to the Bodrum Cup regatta

Those planning Turkey villa holidays may wish to book their break in October to coincide with the annual Bodrum Cup regatta.

The event will take place from the 20th to the 24th and will see over 100 classic wooden yachts take part in various races along the Aegean coast.

For those watching, there will be various forms of entertainment, including live music, dancing and beach parties.

Each day will split into sailing and celebration, with half of the day dedicated to the races and the other half reserved for the festivities.

At the end of the five-day regatta there will be a prize-giving ceremony, where awards will handed over to the winning crews in various categories.

The sight of so many yachts in the crystal clear waters off the Turkish coast is bound to be a spectacular one, so tourists in the region at the time may wish to head down to Bodrum to watch.

Those renting Turkey villas in the resort will be just a stone's throw away from all the action, which will take place down at the bustling harbour.

From here, holiday makers can also enjoy their own boat trip on a traditional gulet to one of the secluded coves along the coast.
