Those staying in Turkey villas urged 'take MMR jab'
Families who are preparing to take flights to Turkey villas have been urged to vaccinate their children against measles before they head on their getaway.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) issued the warning following a sharp rise in cases of the virus in a number of countries, one being Turkey, the BBC reported.
A spokeswoman for the organisation acknowledged: "The HPA is issuing advice to schools and health professionals on measles and recommends that children are fully immunised with two doses of MMR before travelling … for holidays."
Meanwhile, the HPA has also advised adults who have only had one dose of MMR themselves to seek out another vaccination, in order to protect themselves when staying in villas in Turkey.
It seems as though many families are looking to head to Turkey this year, with Attraction World recently revealing a 1,000 per cent growth in their sales for the holiday hot spot.
