Take a Turkey holiday to visit a world-leading beach hotspot
Britons planning a Turkey holiday this year will have the opportunity to visit a beach hotspot that has been ranked as one of the best in the world.
Antalya took third place in a list of the leading beach holiday destinations, which was compiled by comparison site Kelkoo using criteria such as affordability, climate, security, the cost of flights and the quality of local food.
Travellers looking forward to a Turkey villa holiday will be interested to hear that Antalya was ranked ahead of other popular locations such as the Algarve and Crete, which appeared in fifth and ninth positions respectively.
Bruce Fair, managing director of Kelkoo UK, highlighted the importance of affordability in the current climate.
He said Turkey is among the destinations that "fit the bill most closely when it comes to delivering against the criteria that matter most to UK holiday makers today - value for money and affordability".
Mr Fair also pointed out that traditionally popular hotspots such as Spain are gradually becoming more affordable as a result of the pound's resurgence against the euro.
