Rent a Turkey villa holiday to enjoy one of 2010's top destinations

Bookings for Turkey holidays in the summer months of 2010 have increased dramatically in recent months.

That is according to the Co-operative Travel Company, which suggested that discounts are attracting holiday makers to Turkey, Mallorca, Florida, Spain and Crete, among other destinations.

Turkey has displaced Mallorca at the top of the list, while Orlando in Florida is expected to be the third-most popular holiday destination, and Spain's Costa Blanca the fourth.

Trevor Davis, director of retail distribution at Co-operative Travel, said that Lanarca in Cyprus and the Balearic island of Ibiza are also set to be popular.

"As the holiday sector recovers, the battle for bookers will intensify, with companies seeking to increase their market share after a challenging 12 months," he added.

The popularity of Turkey was recently highlighted by the Sunday Times, which claimed that many holiday companies expect the country to be one of the top bargain destinations of 2010 because of its location outside of the eurozone.

It suggested that Turkey holidays were popular with families looking for value for money this year and will be again in the next.
