Rent a Turkey villa for an affordable holiday

Families looking for an affordable holiday destination that offers plenty of sun, sea, sand and culture could consider renting a Turkey villa.

According to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, the country offers great value as it is outside the eurozone.

The organisation's director Irfan Onal said Turkey is one of the most popular holiday destinations for British tourists, with 2.1 million visiting in the first nine months of 2009.

He said UK families are the third largest group of visitors after those from Germany and Russia.

"Turkey is an affordable year-round holiday destination," Mr Onal insisted.

According to American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services, there has been a 26 per cent increase in demand for the Turkish lira this year as holiday makers flock to the country.

There are numerous resorts to choose from in Turkey, although beach lovers may prefer those on the Mediterranean coast, as it is home to some of the country's longest, sandiest stretches of coastline.

Turkey villas in Ovacik may be an excellent choice, as the village is just a 15-minute walk from the much-photographed Olu Deniz beach.

But wherever families decide to stay, they will be able to experience Turkey's unique blend of eastern and western cultures.
