Rent a Turkey villa and walk the Lycian Way
Keen walkers cannot miss the opportunity to walk along the Lycian Way during their Turkey villa holiday.
Stretching some 500 kilometres along the Mediterranean coast from Fethiye to Antalya, this particular route has been named one of the ten best long distance hikes in the world by the Sunday Times.
Of course holiday makers would need several days to complete the walk, so gentle strolls along some of its easier sections may be preferable.
In an article for the Guardian, journalist Tom Robbins includes the Lycian Way in a list of great hiking destinations.
He said the route is perfect for those who want stunning views, but who do not want to tackle high mountains.
Following ancient trade routes, the walk passes numerous white sandy beaches along the way, so tourists can cool of with a quick dip in the sea.
Those renting Turkey villas in Kaya will be able to travel to Fethiye easily to enjoy the first part of the walk. They could also rent a car and drive along the coast to other sections.
Kaya itself is surrounded by farmland and mountains, so may also offer plenty of top walking opportunities.
