Rent a Turkey villa and spend time in Gumbet

Those looking to get out and explore during their Turkey villa holiday could head to the resort of Gumbet for a day.

In an article for the Daily Star, journalist Vicky Lissaman said it offers some great restaurants, excellent shopping and a lovely beach.

She said holiday makers can sample good quality Turkish cuisine at reasonable prices, including kebabs and pide - a pizza-type dish with various topping.

Every Saturday the Turgertreis market is held in Gumbet and is the biggest on the Bodrum peninsula.

Ms Lissaman said the stalls "spill out" onto the side streets, so bargain hunters will not want to miss out.

Everything from Turkish delight and aromatic spices to intricately-designed fabrics and leather handbags are available.

After a morning of shopping, tourists could head down to Gumbet's main beach, which is popular thanks to the wide variety of water sports on offer.

Those renting Turkey villas in Konacik will be able to travel to Gumbet easily by car, as it is just a short drive away.

Konacik itself is surrounded by olive groves, which provide a scenic backdrop.

It is also close to Bodrum and the ruins of Pedasa, which could make another excellent day trip.
