Reasons to visit Istanbul when occupying Turkey villas

Brits who have decided to book Turkey villas this summer may want to check out the city of Istanbul during their stay.

There are plenty of historical sites to explore when at the destination, with many of these being found in the Sultanahmet area.

Here, holiday makers will have the chance to view the Topkapi Palace, which was the home to the Ottoman Sultans in the past and has now become a must-see museum.

Meanwhile, the Blue Mosque, also found in the Sultanahmet region, gives those staying in villas in Turkey the chance to view a 400-year-old mosque, which is decorated with 20,000 dazzling blue tiles.

Those seeking out holidays in Turkey will be able to do so more easily this summer, thanks to Pegasus Airlines and Anadolu Jet opening up additional flights to the country.

Connections to the Turkish resorts of Izmir and Ankara are being made accessible via the carriers respectively throughout the season, both from London's Stansted Airport.
