Old-fashion rural charm still exists on Turkey holidays
Those put off the idea of a Turkey holiday by the country's growing popularity among UK tourists may want to think again.
According to Turkish publication Altinkum Didim Today, the area around Fethiye on the Mediterranean coast has retained much of its old-fashioned rural charm.
It states that Fethiye itself is home to an "impressive" ancient theatre and numerous Lycian rock tombs for those with an interest in history.
And in the town, holiday makers can still see herds of goats and sheep passing through the streets on market days and smell the aroma of herbs and spices in the air.
For those who love the beach, there are also a variety of unspoilt rocky coves and offshore islands with powder-white sands and turquoise lagoons.
Tourists can hire a traditional Turkish wooden boat known as a gulet to explore these beautiful beaches and enjoy some quiet relaxation.
Kaya villas may be an excellent choice for those tempted by a Turkey holiday in this part of the country, as the resort is just a stone's throw from Fethiye and equally close to the picture-postcard beaches at Olu Deniz.
Kaya itself is surrounded by farmland and mountains and is home to a late-medieval village which begs to be explored.
