Live the high life in Bodrum on a Turkey holiday

Those looking to life the high life during their Turkey villa holiday may wish to consider the popular resort of Bodrum.

According to Turkish publication Altinkum Didim Today, it offers a host of sights, attractions and modern amenities without compromising its original charm.

Located on the Aegean coast, Bodrum has "perfected the balance between exotic bazaars, the wailing cry of the muezzin and ancient history with water sports, sunbathing and a nightlife that is notorious throughout Turkey".

Its "pristine" beaches, seaside restaurants and ancient ruins attract tourists from around the world who come to experience this unique mix of the old and the new.

Holiday makers will also find plenty to see just outside of the resort, including "enchanting" villages, secluded bays and historic sites.

"An absolute must on the Turkey experience is to enjoy a Turkish bath, complete with massage to soothe the cares away," Altinkum Didim Today adds.

Tourists can rent their own villas in Bodrum, allowing them to take full advantage of what's on offer in the resort.

In a recent article for the Irish Times, travel journalist Sandra O'Connell said a Turkey holiday could be great for those who want to soak up a last burst of sunshine before the British winter arrives.
