Grab yourself a late deal >Holidays to Turkey in autumn 'proving popular'
Parents have been encouraged to take last-minute flights to villas in Turkey, with the destination offering an ideal opportunity to grab some appealing autumn and winter sun.
The country has been named number two in Travelex's top ten half-term getaway destinations, with only Egypt beating it to number one.
A panel of experts looked at predicted weather reports, currency stats and historical statistics to compile the list.
Visiting Turkey villas in the next couple of months presents people with the ideal opportunity to relax in around 12 hours of sunshine a day, with temperatures usually being no lower than 20 degrees C throughout October.
Travelex's Peter Davies commented: "Trips to Egypt and Turkey are proving especially popular thanks to the strength of the pound against both local currencies, meaning holiday makers have more money to play with."
Families who travel to Turkey next month have the chance to take in the Contemporary Istanbul and ARTIST events if they journey to Istanbul during their stay.
