Villas in Turkey seem an appealing booking for people considering getaways, new research has indicated.
This is after figures by industry analyst GfK Ascent has shown that the destination is back in the number two spot for top-selling summer destination for the week to March 5th.
Such a result means that it is the first time in 2011 that Turkey has taken this position, falling just behind resorts in Spain.
Finishing off the top five destinations for holiday makers, according to the study, were Greece, Egypt and Cyprus, in third, fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Commenting on the findings, Sarah Smalley, the managing director of GfK Ascent, said: "We saw a challenging week last week and some pricing decisions to stimulate bookings. The coming weeks' performance will be key to assessing whether such tactical decisions are effective."
When considering a trip to Turkey Villas, a Didim Today writer has recently advised staying in Marmaris, because the resort "is as classy as the southern coastal towns get".
