Holiday makers urged to learn about Turkey with trip to Istanbul
People who holiday in Turkey over the coming months have been advised to head to the city of Istanbul for a look at what makes the country tick.
The Telegraph offers readers tips on five free activities they can enjoy to enrich their cultural experience in the country.
Istanbul is located on the border of Europe and Asia, with its river proving the exact boundary between the continents.
The first thing the newspaper recommends is a trip to the Blue Mosque, where simply admiring the remarkable structure could while away several hours.
Enjoying the city's parks, exploring its museums, shopping at the unique bazaars and learning about the history are also good ideas when holidaying in Turkey.
Earlier this week, the same newspaper said Istanbul is a great place to visit because of its range of styles and the mix of old and new, which will perhaps tempt some of those visiting the country to take a day trip there.
