Holiday makers in Turkey can visit "world-class" marinas
A number of new marinas available to those who book a holiday in Turkey have been described as "world class" by one organisation.
The Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in the UK, appearing at the London International Boat Show, said the country is blessed with a plethora of top-quality shoreline facilities.
It noted Turkey is home to 29 international-standard marinas, while another 12 municipality-operated harbours can be found in the nation.
These provide a total of 10,450 floating berths and 5,400 hard standing spots, meaning those who love to sail are well catered for.
According to the tourism body, the ports around Istanbul and Antalya are particularly popular, as these also offer access to a number of fascinating historical sites located inland.
Holidays in Turkey were recently named by Travelsupermarket.com as the top option for those looking to get away in 2011, finishing ahead of destinations such as Spain, Tenerife and the Balearic Islands.
