Holiday in Turkey 'is a food lover's dream'
As if there were not already a significant number of reasons to book a holiday in Turkey, flight comparison site Skyscanner appears to have found another.
The online portal suggests the country's authentic dishes and fine beverages alone are worth visiting the country for.
It explains Turkish food is often served on a platter with several foods eaten at once, including flatbreads and numerous dips.
"The traditional foods of the Ottoman Empire, many of which are a fusion of Middle Eastern, Balkan and Asian influence, are hugely popular and include stuffed grapevine leaves and baklava," the website states.
Such a menu is particularly ideal for vegetarians, as many of Turkey's favourite dishes are meat-free.
Indeed, even Turkish delight is vegetarian, with some of the finest available to those who holiday in Turkey.
The country, which straddles the European border with Asia, was recently named by respondents to a survey commissioned by Belek Golf Club as the best place to invest in overseas property.
