Holiday in Turkey can include camel wrestling festival
People searching for a unique event to make their next break particularly memorable may wish to opt for a holiday in Turkey in January.
That is because a camel wrestling festival is being held in Selcuk, with scores of men due to fight with the humped creatures.
Tourists with little ones to think of can rest assured there are no gruesome sights to avoid, as a scream or fall is enough to count as a submission.
Hihostels has named the festival as one of its top ten most unusual in the world.
However, it is not all about camels when taking a holiday in Turkey, with Selcuk also said to offer a range of other attractions.
These include a variety of historical monuments, illustrating the city's status as the planet's second-largest ancient spot, as well as mountains and springs.
Another reason to visit Turkey was recently brought up by Skyscanner, which noted the country's cuisine is among the best around.
