Head to the Bodrum peninsula on a Turkey villa holiday

Travellers planning a Turkey villa holiday this summer might be interested in paying a visit to the Bodrum peninsula.

The region was recommended by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as part of a feature on the best destinations to visit for an early summer getaway.

Described as "the stylish playground of Turkey's glamorous set", Bodrum is located on the Aegean coast between the resorts of Kusadasi and Marmaris.

People who visit the area during a Turkey villa holiday can take a walk through its seaside towns and villages, which are home to low-rise stone properties and quaint areas to explore.

Those who venture inland can go for a walk on scenic hills populated by pine trees.

Conde Nast Traveller also recommended a visit to the ancient Greek city of Halicarnassus, which it described as "an intriguing maze of bazaars and white houses" which today serves as a "bustling historical port".

Visitors can see the city's historic amphitheatre during a Turkey holiday or head further north to explore the fishing village of Turkbuku.
