Go sailing on a Turkey villa holiday

Those hoping to spend some time out at sea on their Turkey villa holiday should head to Marmaris for a day trip.

According to Turkish publication Altinkum Didim Today, the resort is "the best base for some of the finest sailing in the Mediterranean".

Holiday makers could travel to the modern marina in Marmaris and catch a boat trip along the coast, visiting secluded coves and unspoilt beaches.

Of course those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground could still enjoy taking a stroll along the harbour front and marvelling at the expensive private yachts moored up there.

Marmaris is also home to a bustling cosmopolitan centre where tourists can do some shopping, Altinkum Didim Today states.

Items such as leather goods, ceramics, jewellery and carpets can be bought from the bazaars and shops near the Ottoman castle.

Afterwards, they could chill out and enjoy a meal in one of the resort's many restaurants, which serve everything from fish and chips to traditional Turkish meze platters.

Those staying in Turkey villas in the town of Dalyan will be able to travel to Marmaris easily by car.

They can also enjoy some sailing in Dalyan itself, where boat trips through the river channels to the beautiful beach at Iztutu are available.
