Experience culture and history on a Turkey holiday

Travellers planning a Turkey villa holiday this year will have the opportunity to learn more about the country's rich culture and fascinating heritage.

According to writer Kevin Gould, Turkey's history and cultural offerings are an important part of what makes the destination so special and enduringly popular among travellers.

In an article for the Guardian on why the country is one of his favourite destinations, Mr Gould pointed out that nearly 2.5 million Britons are set to take a Turkey holiday this year.

Located outside the eurozone and boasting coastlines on the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black seas, the nation offers "everything the fun-hungry all-inclusive traveller wants", the writer claimed.

He encouraged people planning Turkey holidays to see the Datca peninsula, which separates the gulfs of Gokova and Hisaronu.

Visitors can relax on some of the scenic beaches in the area, swim in turquoise waters and explore a stretch of coast that is as "gorgeous as anywhere in the Med", according to Mr Gould.
