Enjoy different styles of Istanbul on holiday in Turkey
People who book a stay at a villa in Turkey may wish to incorporate some time in Istanbul into their trip.
The Telegraph reviews the city, suggesting it is an intriguing mix of styles and ages that is likely to interest all visitors.
Istanbul is often dubbed the city of two halves, with its area straddling the Europe-Asia border.
"Ancient and modern vie for attention on both European and Asian sides, with gleaming glass towers overlooking the traditional wooden buildings that still cling to the banks of the Bosporus," the newspaper notes.
While relaxing on the country's beautiful beaches may be a priority for many of those who head to Turkey for a holiday, Istanbul offers a fascinating option for those who would like to spend a day or two away from the sun and sand.
Recent research by the International Currency Exchange found Turkey is likely to be one of the key winter break destinations in the world over the next few months.
