Enjoy a 'last burst of sun' on a Turkey holiday
With the autumn half-term holiday looming and the nights creeping in, families could soak up a last burst of sun by taking their children on a Turkey holiday.
Writing for the Irish Times, travel journalist Sandra O'Connell named the country as one of the best destinations to enjoy a half-term break with the kids.
She explained that daytime temperatures in Turkey hover at around 20 degrees Celsius, while the evenings are not much cooler.
This could be great news for parents looking for some warm sunny days to idle away on the beach or in a cafe overlooking a quiet harbour.
It may also appeal to youngsters who are hoping to spend their half-term holiday in their bathing suits exploring foreign shores.
There are a number of popular resorts to choose from in Turkey, but Bodrum on the Aegean Coast may be a good option for families.
Here, holiday makers can enjoy traditional Turkish and international cuisine in some of the town's many restaurants or pick up some bargains in the bazaar area.
They can also take gulet boat trips to secluded coves, which should excite youngsters with a sense of adventure.
