Enjoy a cheap family day out on a Turkey holiday
Families looking for some affordable days out during a Turkey villa holiday this year might be interested in paying a visit to Saklikent gorge.
Post Office Travel Money released a report which showed that the site was the cheapest of a number of surveyed locations for a day trip, at a cost of ?7.41 for a family of four.
By comparison, the Pompeii ruins in Italy would set visitors back ?29.73.
The company also asked British adults to name their biggest 'holiday rip-offs', finding that mobile phone roaming costs are seen as the top financial gripe, followed by fees for using credit and debit cards abroad and airline baggage charges.
Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Money, offered some money-saving tips for families planning Turkey holidays and other overseas breaks this year.
"There is plenty families can do to avoid getting stung on holiday," she said.
"They should check excursion and attraction prices online before they go to avoid the most expensive and they should also pack kids' beach items that could break the holiday budget if bought overseas."
