Caves may make for ideal day trip on Turkey holiday

Readers of the Sunday Telegraph over the weekend (September 5th) were treated to a sneak preview of what to expect on holiday in Turkey.

The newspaper documented the Cappadocia region, which is famous for swirling landscape and mysterious caves.

While Turkey is a highly-popular destination for British tourists looking to relax in warm and cultural surroundings, many may not yet have experienced the underground wonders found in the area.

Located in the centre of the country, Cappadocia could be perfect for those looking to get away from their seaside villa in Turkey for a day or two in order to see a little more of the country.

"As Turkey proves an ever more popular destination for British travellers, the press we receive reflects the wide variety of offerings in the country all year round," says Irfan Onal, director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office.

Nadine Hallak, travel expert at Cheapflights Media, recently said Turkey has as much cultural history to enjoy as Italy.
