Book a Turkey villa holiday and take a trip to Rhodes

Lovers of classical antiquity can book a Turkey villa holiday on the Mediterranean coast and enjoy a day trip to Rhodes.

Famous for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Greek island is rich in history and easily reachable by boat from Fethiye, near Dalaman Airport and Olu Deniz.

According to the Fethiye Times, the journey between the two locations will soon be even easier thanks to the introduction of a new crossing service using a large catamaran.

The vessel will be capable of carrying as many as 300 passengers, compared to 120 on the hydrofoil it is to replace and it is expected more people will visit Rhodes as a result.

Rhodes is rich with culture and history, and the city itself is a Unesco World Heritage Site with plenty to offer tourists.

In ancient times, it stood as part of the Athenian Empire, and Greek ruins still litter the island, along with medieval settlements and fortifications.

For those interested in taking a trip to Rhodes, accommodation can be found close to Fethiye in the form of Turkey villas at Dalyan, Kaya, Ovacik or Hisaronu.
