Book a Turkey villa holiday and experience hospitality at its best

People on a Turkey villa holiday will soon understand the true meaning of hospitality, with locals welcoming all tourists with open arms, a travel writer has suggested.

Martin Storey states that no matter where people venture in the Mediterranean country, they will always receive a "sincere" welcoming.

He goes on to describe a coastal town called Kalkan, near Kas, once a sleepy fishing village but now a more sophisticated spot boasting a number of reputable restaurants.

The old town is a "maze of narrow crazy paved streets … one can find shops selling arts and crafts, fine clothing and jewellery, equisite rugs and carpets, as well as the coffee houses and restaurants," he claims.

The region is also a popular haunt of well-known names in the film and music industries.

Kalkan is situated at the foot of the Taurus Mountains. People wanting a day excursion can go on a boat trip to the nearby sandy bays of Patara and Kapatus.

The local cuisine features fresh, locally caught fish, served in one of the many roof-terraced restaurants overlooking the sea.
