Book a Turkey holiday for family-friendly fun

People looking for holiday destinations that will appeal to the whole family should consider Turkey, as it offers fun for young and old alike.

In an article for the Sunday Express, travel journalist Matthew Dunn said Turkey allowed him and his wife to enjoy the adventurous and cultural holidays they used to before they had children.

However, the youngsters were also well catered for in Turkey, with beautiful sandy beaches and plenty of activities within the resorts to keep them entertained.

Mr Dunn and his family stayed on Turkey's Aegean coast, where they were able to visit some of the Mediterranean's best historical and cultural sites and spend a few days on the beach.

They also dined in local restaurants, eating freshly-caught sea bass and other dishes while they watched the sun set over the sea.

Day trips to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and Bafa Lake between Didim and Bodrum, were on the itinerary.

Describing the car journey towards the latter, Mr Dunn said the road "hugs" the south coast and offers "tantalising glimpses of an unspoilt and largely uninhabited north shore covered with wild olive trees".

Those renting Turkey villas in Bodrum will be in a great location to visit these sites and enjoy a beach holiday too, with nearby Gumbet offering a host of watersports.
