Book a Turkey holiday and see the next tourism hotspot
Those heading off on Turkey holidays this year could take a trip to what is being billed as the country's next holiday hotspot.
According to the Hurriyet Daily News, the ancient city of Amos near Marmaris is to be restored to serve the tourism industry.
Complete with its own amphitheatre, the 4,000-year-old town was once part of the Caria civilization in Turkey.
No excavations will be carried out, but landscaping work will be done to turn the city into a luxury holiday destination.
Tourists can reach the ruins in Amos from Asarcik Hill, which lies to the north-west of Kumlubuk Bay.
In addition to the 1,000-seat capacity amphitheatre, it is also home to a temple and statue pedestals and is surrounded by ramparts dating back to the Hellenistic era.
Those hoping to visit Amos may wish to stay in a Turkey villa in Dalyan, as they can reach Marmaris by car from the resort.
Dalyan is a holiday hotspot in its own right, with a wide selection of bars and restaurants and some stunning countryside scenery.
