Active holidays in Turkey 'are top choice of 2011'

Families and couples in search of an active break will increasingly be booking holidays in Turkey, if the words of one expert are taken on board.

Sophie Butler, writing for the Daily Telegraph, says the wide range of options available to tourists is a key advantage of the country when it comes to attracting visitors.

She notes walking and sailing are two of the most established and popular pursuits for holiday makers to enjoy, with opportunities to try these out plentiful.

There are also numerous deals on the table for visitors wishing to try out white water rafting, surfing, mountain biking, kayaking and scuba diving.

And those who choose one of these activities will be able to carry them out in either the beautiful waters of Turkey's sea or in its rugged inland terrain.

Cheapflights.co.uk recently recommended holidays in Turkey as the ideal way to enjoy astronomy, as the nation has one of the world's best night skies.
