'Value for money' in Turkey villa breaks

A Turkey villa holiday is suggested for travellers looking for inexpensive luxury.

Brits who book a Turkey holiday are able to experience five star luxury at three star prices thanks to the country's position outside the eurozone.

This is the suggestion from travelsupermarket.com, which praised the country's self-catering and villa rental options in comparison to more expensive, all-inclusive breaks.

Findings from the website have revealed that just 13 per cent of this summer's UK holiday makers will be embarking on an all-inclusive holiday, with the majority opting for a villa or similar self-catering option.

Bob Atkinson, a travelsupermarket.com travel expert, said that many people do not realise that their ideal trip abroad is within their grasp.

"Travel companies are offering fantastic holidays at great prices at the moment," he commented.

Villa holidays in Turkey are especially popular among Brits, although holiday makers from Russia, Germany, Israel, Japan and Arab countries also choose to visit the Mediterranean country during the summer.

According to Turkey's ministry of culture and tourism, more than 1.2 million overseas tourists arrived in the country in December last year, an increase from December 2008's figure of 1.09 million.
