People who take up a walking challenge by booking a holiday in Tenerife may find a volcano in the south of the island is the highlight.
As part of the Tenerife Bluetrail, a number of routes will be opened this April to walkers of various abilities.
Some could opt to follow the Ultra Trail, which Tourism in Tenerife says takes in Montana de Guaza – an iconic part of Grand Route 131.
"Tenerife offers a fascinating natural playground and excellent infrastructure to host important events such as the Tenerife Bluetrail," states the organisation's Jose Manuel Bermudez.
People taking on the Ultra Trail will also be met with views of vineyards, quaint villages and beautiful countryside.
It takes in Camino Real de Chasna, thought to be one of the oldest walking paths in Tenerife.
Last month, Mr Bermudez suggested people who take holidays in Tenerife are able to get closer to the worlds of fashion and film.
