Tourists who really want to make the most of a world-famous carnival and soak up every last drop of its atmosphere should book a holiday in Tenerife for two weeks.
So says budget carrier Jet2.com, which suggests the event in Santa Cruz is a flamboyant and colourful affair awash with vibrancy and vigour.
It recommends taking in either the opening or closing ceremonies, describing breaks that include neither as a "mistake".
And the airline is adamant that in order to absorb everything, a two-week trip is required.
Jet2.com promises "colourful parties, plenty of laughter and scantily-clad performers" at the carnival.
Another tip given to holiday makers heading to Tenerife is dress to impress, but take into consideration the island's reputation for warm sun at all times of year and stay cool.
Fellow airline Monarch recently announced Tenerife, along with Mallorca, is the best-selling destination of its current sale period, with plenty of travellers expected to descend on the island in 2011.
