Tenerife villas: 'Travel insurance can cover most holiday nightmares'
People heading to Tenerife villas only need to look at the problems caused over the past two winters to see the disruption that the weather can cause to a holiday.
That is why Cheapflights.co.uk has given tourists some tips to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance cover in place to prepare for any unforeseen delays.
For one, those with outstanding health issues should ensure that they have worldwide medical insurance stated on their travel insurance document, just in case they require treatment while abroad.
Meanwhile, frequent travellers will likely find that opting for multi-trip insurance policies is much cheaper than buying cover for every individual trip.
"The lesson learned is that it's important to understand travel insurance and use it wisely to protect yourself and your trip. While it may not be possible to plan for absolutely everything, it's quite possible to get cover for most things," Nadine Hallak, travel expert for Cheapflights.co.uk, stated.
In other advice, Graeme Trudgill, head of corporate affairs at the British Insurance Brokers Association, has urged Brits to make sure they have home insurance in place so that a property is protected while its occupants are away.
