Southern Tenerife 'is perfect for a winter holiday'
People searching for the perfect spot for a winter holiday may wish to consider booking a villa in Tenerife, with the island's southern coast coming in for special praise from one travel expert.
Gill Charlton, answering readers' questions for the Daily Telegraph, notes the weather in the area will "certainly be much warmer" than in the UK.
Indeed, it is "one of the driest, sunniest places" within all the Canary Islands – and is ideally positioned for almost any type of holiday.
The developed party town of Playa de las Americas is somewhere Ms Charlton does not wish to visit, but for those seeking a lively break it is only a short distance from the glorious southern coast.
Instead, she recommends Costa Adeje, which is much smarter and arguably more relaxing.
Another option could be to head inland and explore the diverse landscape of Tenerife and its volcanic terrain.
Skyscanner recently named the destination as one of its ultimate places to visit at this time of year.
