People in Scotland looking to get away next year for a family break may wish to consider a holiday in Tenerife, after an airline announced a new route between the locations.
Budget carrier Jet2.com is to offer flights between Glasgow and the Spanish island from as little as £56.99 each way.
The service will open on April 1st next year and run until November 4th in a bid to cope with demand for trips to the sun-kissed destination.
Pia Louw, travel industry director at the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, said: "We are delighted that Jet2.com has recognised Tenerife's ever-growing popularity in the UK market and that these new flights will introduce even more British holidaymakers to our beautiful island."
The extra flights to Tenerife will depart from Scotland on Tuesdays and Fridays, with Glasgow the airline's eighth different UK base.
Figures released by the Spanish government last week showed the popularity of Tenerife as a holiday resort is growing, with a four per cent growth recorded in August compared with the same month a year earlier.
