Hundreds of runners from across the world will enjoy a holiday in Tenerife in April when a unique event comes to the Spanish island.
Tenerife Bluetrail will see competitors race from the south of the destination across its volcanic landscape, past the iconic Mount Teide and eventually to the far north.
Athletes of various abilities are welcome to join the fun, which is due to take place on April 16th.
Vice-president and councillor for Tourism in Tenerife Jose Manuel Bermudez says: "Tenerife offers a fascinating natural playground and excellent infrastructure to host important events such as the Tenerife Bluetrail and we aim to make the most of this opportunity."
Competitors can choose one of four routes to suit their tastes, with the most challenging spanning 100km and reaching a height of almost 3,000m.
Another reason to visit Tenerife in the near future may be its upcoming annual carnival, held in Santa Cruz.
