Holidays in Tenerife 'bring visitors closer to fashion and film'
A holiday in Tenerife may no longer be only a chance to relax on some of the world's most beautiful beaches and lap up the strong year-round sun.
The island has been described as somewhere that attracts the most famous and important faces from the world of fashion and film.
Indeed, it could be a spot where holiday makers get their chance to rub shoulders with their favourite actor, director or designer.
Vice-president and councillor for Tourism in Tenerife José Manuel Bermudez suggests the Spanish island attracted 15 per cent more movie productions in 2010 compared with the previous year.
He says this "is testament to Tenerife's credentials as an authentic set for filming and photo shoots, providing a valuable promotional tool for our island".
Among the celebrities to have taken a holiday in Tenerife in recent months is Manchester City and Argentina striker Carlos Tevez, who used a gap in his club's fixture list to sun himself on the island.
