Tenerife is one of the world's top holiday destinations for people seeking a sunshine break during the autumn and winter months.
That is the view of Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, who says the Canary Islands in general can be considered as a great place to top up the tan at this time of year.
In addition to its reliable supply of warmth, a short-haul flight may appeal to those who do not have the time to seek out the rays on the opposite side of the world.
And when it comes to making the most of a budget, a holiday in Tenerife cannot be beaten.
"If you are talking about value for money once you are actually in the destinations, the Canaries [is a good option] because the Euro has come back fairly well in the last year to be good value again," states Mr Atkinson.
Tesco Bank recently announced the results of a survey that suggested some 46 per cent of UK adults are considering a foreign holiday after September this year.
