A travel expert has highlighted a holiday in Tenerife as an option that should be on the minds of those who still have annual leave to take in 2010.
Sean Tipton, spokesman for ABTA – The Travel Association, said there are 13.1 million days owed to British workers over the next three weeks – a statistic taken from a study by lastminute.com.
With the current freezing temperatures at home, he suggested heading somewhere that will provide warmth and sunshine.
"The last few days have seen some very harsh weather in the UK, so if you are looking for winter sun the Canary Islands and North Africa have great temperatures at this time of year," Mr Tipton stated.
With Tenerife and Lanzarote two of the region's most popular resorts, individuals may be wise to book a villa there and soak up some rays as 2010 comes to a close.
The research by lastminute.com showed one-in-ten people are willing to sacrifice the holiday entitlement they have remaining.
